Pictures:
I also had some fun firsts this past week. I had my first door really slammed in my face and I got bit by a dog for the first time! We've had people just reject us before but this one dude literally screamed at us and then slammed his door so hard I thought he was gonna break it. It was kinda funny though because afterward I thought "hey I always hear about missionaries getting doors slammed to them and it just happened to me, I'm a real missionary!" The dog biting me was less fun though. It was really calm at first and then it started bearing it's teeth and bit my knee so i kicked it away. It was in a trailer park so the dogs are kinda wild there.
TRANSFER NEWS! We have transfers today and I am staying here in Hamilton Pool which I am super excited about. I am getting a new companion though which means that I am leading out this area now! I am excited and also nervous to do that since it's my first time.
Spiritual Thought:
This comes from Luke 22:46 which says, "rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation." There is so much power in prayer. I feel like I have to keep relearning this but all the reminders are good for me. I learned something new from this verse though. I think that a lot of the time we know when we are being tempted, or even when we are about to be tempted. In those moments we can hit our knees and pray for strength. We never realize how powerful and helpful it is to call upon our heavenly father in the name of Christ. As well as just making our normal prayers more meaningful. I invite you all to slow down and really focus when you are saying your prayers. Talk with your heavenly father about everything you are grateful for, everything you need help with, ask him questions and then watch for the answers. That is something else I have learned on the mission, that when we pray with real intent we can see the answers to those prayers.
I love yall and hope you are doing awesome! Email me an update if you ever get the chance!
