"I want it absolutely clear when I stand before the judgment bar of God that I declared to the world, in the most straightforward language I could summon, that the Book of Mormon is true" - Jeffrey R. Holland

The Oasis  I wanted to add a little something from Jeffrey R. Holland since his passing. I have always loved his talk from October 2009 general conference titled "Safety for the Soul." I love his testimony of the Book of Mormon and this is one of my favorite quotes from that talk and I would recommend listening to it!  PHOTOS :  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ XdnGgKSD4vJwVCGv8 Christmas with the Sweat Family! Merry Christmas to all and happy new year to come! I had an amazing week but Im going to start with last p day because it was pretty exciting. If you have heard the song "Friends in low places" by Garth Brooks, you might remember that he mentions going down to the Oasis.  Welp turns out the Oasis is a restaurant that is here in my area!! So of course when we found that out we had to go there for a district lunch! Its a massive restaurant right on the edge of Lake Travis, but not only is it a restaurant, its like a little town too. Pictures describe it best so...

The tripanionship at the future Austin temple!  FELIZ NATAL A TODOS!!  Pics:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ XdnGgKSD4vJwVCGv8 Merry Christmas everyone. So this past week was an amazing week! Even though it was also the craziest week so far of my mission. Last week after i sent my email out President Carter called us and informed us that we would be in a trio and covering two areas! So thats what we've been doing! I'm in a trio with Elder Carpenter and Elder Christsensen and we've been covering two areas so its been pretty crazy! We've been teaching a lot of people preparing them for baptism which is good for me because this is the first time I've done that!  Speaking of people getting ready for Baptism, i cannot wait for Jordan to be baptised on the 3rd of January now!! We had three lessons with him this past week where we taught him all about the plan of salvation, more about the resoration, and then all the laws and covenants he will be making at baptism. Anoth...

What is up everyone!?! Hope ya'll are doing good! Thanks for all the prayers  for me because they paid off this past week! We put Jordan on date to be baptized on December 27th!! He was a facebook referral that we have taught 4 times now and has come to church twice. He's 18 and just graduated high school and was looking for a church to join and found ours! I have never met anyone that is more ready to be baptized than he is! It's so exciting! When we asked him we were teaching him the gospel of Jesus Christ which is faith, repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost. After teaching it to him we asked if he wanted to be baptized, and he said "of course I want to!" So keep up the prayers for Jordan and I'm stoked for his baptism Also quick explanation of my title today. We were at a restaurant this past week and ordered our food all together. When they asked for the name for the order we told them Elders cuz we thought it would be fun and apparently they ...

The Journey to North Austin

First some pics for those who want to see my pretty face...  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ XdnGgKSD4vJwVCGv8 Olá todas pessoas!! The highlight of this past week for me was going on exchanges with Elder Routson. He is from Layton Utah and we grew up 15 minutes from each other without ever realizing it! We even were hanging out with each other this past 4th  of July playing 9 square at Barnes park! We found a picture that he had with both of us in it which is crazy! Small world. But as well as becoming good friends with him, we also were able to have some really cool missionary experiences together. For exchanges, I went with him to his area which was the Northern part of Austin City. My area is about an hour west of Austin City so there were some big differences. Mainly, almost all the people in my area are very rich , while all the people in North Austin are more towards the poor side. It was so much easier to talk to people and we even were able to get 3 finds by just goi...

Turkey Bowl with the Youth Pictures:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ XdnGgKSD4vJwVCGv8 This past week was the first week of a new transfer! My new companion Elder Christensen is the best and genuinely cracks me up. There's at least one time everyday where I'm laughing so hard Im crying cuz of him. Also I mentioned last week that Im leading out this area which has been really good actually except for my ability to give directions! We drive everywhere and Elder Christensen is the designated driver so I have to give him directions. I know the area and where to go but I keep forgetting that he doesn't so I always miss when to tell him to turn or something. So I gotta start giving "Good Directions!"  Me and Elder Christensen at Thanksgiving Dinner Happy late Thanksgiving!   I hope you all had a great day eating lots of food, especially pie, and watching lots of football! We definitely have a lot to be grateful for too! We went to a turkey trot in the morning which was ...
