The Journey to North Austin

First some pics for those who want to see my pretty face...

Olá todas pessoas!! The highlight of this past week for me was going on exchanges with Elder Routson. He is from Layton Utah and we grew up 15 minutes from each other without ever realizing it! We even were hanging out with each other this past 4th🇺🇸 of July playing 9 square at Barnes park! We found a picture that he had with both of us in it which is crazy! Small world. But as well as becoming good friends with him, we also were able to have some really cool missionary experiences together. For exchanges, I went with him to his area which was the Northern part of Austin City. My area is about an hour west of Austin City so there were some big differences. Mainly, almost all the people in my area are very rich💰, while all the people in North Austin are more towards the poor side. It was so much easier to talk to people and we even were able to get 3 finds by just going up and talking to people in parks! Its crazy how strongly I can feel the spirit when testifying to a person that I met 5 minutes ago! That sounds like just normal missionary work but that's basically unheard of in my area! We can really only do door knocking in my area and never really get to go contacting in public. But Ii was just a great day getting to do some missionary work with Elder Routson!

Other fun things:
- still had some food poisoning on Tuesday and threw up a little bit more but I've been fine since then.
- at zone council with the stake president we set a goal of having 50 baptisms next year in the stake!
- went to Panda Express🐼
- cooked some really good bacon Saturday morning and even took some to President because we had interviews in the morning. Plus he actually wasn't able to eat breakfast that morning so he loved it! 🥓🥓
- a little girl in my ward gave me a note telling me that "you are OSUM!"

Spiritual thought: John 13:13-17
This scripture passage happens right after Jesus washes the feet of his 12 apostles. It is an amazing example of serving and loving one another, but a lot of the time we make excuses to not do those things. But Jesus says "For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done unto you." He then also gives us a promise in verse 17 that we will be HAPPY when we do these things. There is no better time than during this Christmas season to love and serve one another, and I can promise you that you will be happy when you do. I experience it every single day being a missionary.

Speaking of missionary work we finally have one promising friend! His name is Jordan and he was a facebook referall, which means that he asked for missionaries to come meet with him over facebook! We have taught him 2 times, he came to church on Sunday, stayed for second hour with the youth because he is 18, and we have another upcoming lesson with him. He is so awesome and I can't wait to see what happens in the future with him, please pray for Jordan!

Thanks everyone who sent me emails, they always brighten my week! Hope everyone is doing well. Até mais!
