I'm literally "chillin" ❄️

Snow and Ice in Texas?

It is officially colder here in Austin than it is back home in Kaysville. As of right now, it is 21° in Kaysville, and 17° degrees here! So no one can make fun of me anymore for saying it is cold here!

It also rained quite a bit Saturday night + the humidity and now everything is just a big sheet of ice. That's not an exaggeration. So we basically have been stuck in our apartment since then because its not safe to drive and we live way outside of our area! Been doing lots of social media work and studying!! Woot woot!🙌🙌

But, stuff happened before the freeze thats more entertaining. One cool experience hapend Tuesday night. Me and Elder Christensen had tried going to visit some people that we had stopped by in the past, but none of them answered the door. So we decided to walk around the neighborhood and talk to anyone that was out! We didn't talk to anyone for probably half an hour and it was basically dark at this point so we were about to leave when I saw a truck in a driveway 2 blocks away with its hazards lights on. I said let's go talk to them, those lights have to be a sign. So we walked over and they were moving a table and a bunch of chairs into their house so we helped them and then afterward we got to talk to one of the movers and teach him A TON!! He kept asking really good questions! We passed him off to the Elders in south Austin because that's where he lives but it was still a cool experience!

Other cool experiences:
- Exchanges with Elder Decker! He is a powerhouse of a missionary and I learned lots from him.

Me and Elder Decker

- Member service chain ⛓️ We stopped by half the members of our ward with a plate of cookies and then challenged them to go stop by another person with a plate of cookies!
- My bed was super comfy this past week. It feels good to work hard!
- As always the Sweat family is awesome😎
- Watched the Testaments with Elder Carpenter on our phones while we were freezing

Store shelves were empty because of the storm

Spiritual Thought:

With being stuck in the apartment on Sunday, and also with always having a busy schedule as a missionary, I have learned the importance of being productive with your time. I love the feeling of finishing your day completely exhausted because you worked so hard and you know you did your best. This also relates to the Nephites and the Lamanites in 2 Nephi 5. The Lamanites were idle, so it was easier for them to fall into temptation. While the Nephites were a hardworking people so they "lived after the manner of happiness." So always try to be as productive as you can and you will be happy!

Hope everyone is staying safe and happy! Send me an update if you have the chance! Love ya'll! ❤️
