| Welcome to the Bee Cave |
This week was an interesting week in the sense that a lot of stuff happened, but none of it was anything extraordinary. So theres lots of quick highlights but there was a cool story with a guy that we found. We decided to go stop by a woman in our area that hadn't bad a stop by in a while but she was a 30 min drive to the edge our area. So the entire time driving out there I was praying to make this worth our time and when we got there she actually wasnt home l, but her son was in the driveway fixing his car!! Thank the lord because of course we talked to him, he was nice, said he was kinda interested, and that we could come back anytime!
Also taught the restoration what felt like a million times last week, felt like I was rapping the restoration. On Thursday I got to go on exchanges again with Elder Routson! He is an amazing person and an even better missionary! But we went door knocking for about 2 hours that day and we met 2 people that let us teach them. So we taught the restoration and about Jesus Christ, one lady had a ton of questions for us, but at the end they both said they weren't interested and didnt want to waste our time. Dang it. But I had a great day with Elder Routson and we are going to room together our first year at BYU if you are reading this Elder Routson
Lastly we also had a follow up lesson with Jordan that night. We retaught him about the restoration (of all things), but mainly about the restoration of the priesthood. His next step is to get the priesthood and it was a really good lesson! It was with the Sweat family again so shoutout to them
They're awesome!!
They're awesome!! Quick highlights:
- went to a combined youth activity where we made cupcakes blindfolded. My team sprinkle squad won!!
- taught early morning seminary on Thursday
- interviews with President and Sister Carter are the best
- service with the Ladies of Lake Travis
- went on a run Saturday morning, I'm cooked
Spiritual thought:
D&C 11:21 "Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word." I have always loved this scripture. We must always be studying and learning about the gospel before we can teach it. But how do we know when we have finished obtaining the word and are ready to declare it? While we need to gain a testimony for ourselves, it is also a commandment to share what we have learned. I don't think you will ever feel 100% ready either, it's a leap of faith. Its a lifelong pursuit to study and learn, so when the opportunity does present itself to declare the world, you at least feel prepared. I challenge all of you to keep studying your scriptures to obtain the word!
Tchau!
