I do have a good story from my travels getting here that quite literally felt like riding a bull in a rodeo. So to put it simply my original flight here had an engine fail 30 min into our flight!! Everything was going smoothly until all of the sudden the plane felt like it slightly dropped and then it felt like turbulence on steroids! The captian came over the intercom and I only remember him saying "Stay calm, we have engine failure, fasten your seatbelts we are heading back to SLC!" So we went back to SLC and they got us another flight later in the day. It was quite the experience and you could tell everyone was very nervous the entire flight back, but I was sitting next to some other missionaries on the plane and we said a prayer together and it actually brought me a lot of comfort. So even though it was scary I had a spritual experience at the same time.

Getting to the mission was crazy too. Since we got there so late, at around 8:00, I met the mission president and other leaders, they bought us some pizza, I met my trainer, and then I was on my way to my first area by 9:30. I got to my area, which is in Lakeway Texas if any of you are interested, didn't have anytime time to unpack before I was supposed to be in bed. So I got there and just passed out on my bed!
Texas is amazing! There's no mountains and it's completely flat but still beautiful! The sunsets and sunrises are cool because there so big since theres no mountains to block it. The people are the best too, they're exactly what I hoped they would be like. Every where people just wear cowboy boots and hats! I also had heard people say y'all back in Utah so I didn't think it would surprise me that much hear, but they literally use it in nearly every sentence when they are talking to me and my companion! I love it.
Anyway, I don't have as much free time on my p-days now so my emails will probably start to get a little shorter, this week was super eventful though.
Missionary thought: this will be fast but i just wanted to share about the book of mormon. So I still have an hour set aside everyday for me to study my Portuguese and I just started reading my book of mormon in Portuguese for half that time! Even though it takes me 30 min to read one chapter I still feel the spirit so strong! I would encourage you all to make sure you are reading from the Book of Mormon everyday and you will feel blessings from it everyday like President Nelson used to say!
I love you all and sorry if you email me and I don't respond cuz I have a lot less free time on my p days here than in the MTC! But I still love getting emails!
