"There is no tomorrow!" - Apollo Creed

I look forward to seeing this car everyday!

Olá everyone!! Week three of the MTC is now complete and things are still the same here. Me and my district have all gotten into the groove of how things work here and our schedule. Every day we have 7 hours of class in Portuguese, 3 hours of personal and companion study and language study, and then the rest of the time is filled with eating and 1 hour of exercise time. Because each day is planned out for us and basically the same each day it's easy to see how it could be hard for some people. So me and my district wanted to find a way to make each day unique and special. So we remembered Apollo Creeds famous saying from Rocky III that "there is no tomorrow!" At least I'm pretty sure it's Rocky III so forgive me dad if it's not! Many of you may already know this but my dad is the biggest Rocky fan I know so I thought of him with this quote. But anyway, this quote was kinda our districts theme this last week to help remind us to enjoy each day! We would say it all the time to help us stay focused in all our classes and be in the moment. After all you only get to be in the MTC once so make the most of it. Plus the quote got even better when I opened my apartment door to see Elder Miller sprinting down the hallway being chased by Elder Lloyd after stealing his mini fridge! The entire time he was shouting that "THERE IS NO TOMORROW!!" All the way until Elder Lloyd tackled him and took his fridge back.

Portuguese is coming along slowly but surely. There is one thing that's a little hard and that is there is a little difference between Brazilian and Mozambique Portuguese. It's only a little difference in pronunciation of some letters but it shows up in nearly every word in the language. So I kinda feel like I'm learning two languages at the same time. They also teach us Brazilian Portuguese because everyone in my district is going to Brazil except for me and my companion so I'm constantly having to translate between Brazilian, English, and Mozambique Portuguese. Im just praying a lot for the gift of tongues and know that I'll start figuring out the language eventually as long as I'm putting effort into it.

Things are still going awesome with my district tho. We did all catch the MTC sickness a little bit last week but it was never worse than a sore throat and a little sniffle. Plus I think everyone is on the upwards side of getting better now. We've found a lot of ways to entertain ourselves too like setting up a mini hoop in one of the dorms and having dunking competitions which is one of my favorite things to do! Plus theres someone that works at the MTC that drives an old mustang to work everyday and I go out of my way almost everyday to go and look at it cuz I'm still obsessed with cars, especially old classic cars!

Missionary thought: With president Nelson passing away Saturday night I've been thinking a lot about prophets and why they are so important. I'm super grateful that President Nelson was the prophet during my youth. So many of the times that I felt the spirit during those years of my life I realized could be tied back to him. So much so that I realized even my decision to serve a mission could be tied back to him. D&C 21:4-6 talks about how prophets are the literal mouthpiece of god. When you realize that it makes you want to do everything the prophets say. It also makes me super excited for conference this upcoming weekend. I can't wait to watch it in the MTC!

I love you all and hope you have a great week!!
