The Great Texodus

What's up everyone!! Let me just say Texas thunderstorms are something else! I am currently sitting out on our balcony watching mother earth just go crazy while I'm writing this email! ⛈️

This week was a tough week! I mean that not in bad way because we just worked really hard this week. Elder Clark was also pretty sick but he kept pushing and working hard, and now I think I'm getting sick too so hopefully we can keep up the good work. Because the lords work never stops!!

Another lesson I learned this week about being disciplined was from a member we went and visited. On our records he had not been to church for the past 18 months and every time missionaries had tried to visit him he wasn't home. So we thought we were going to visit a super inactive member. But, when we knocked on the door (also in the pouring rain) he opened it and excitedly said "Elders!! Please come in!"

We got talking with him and learned that he had been working on the road for 18 months for his job! All the way from Maine to California he had been buying and selling damaged property for statefarm! But the cool part was during those 18 months he never forgot the importance of going to church and keeping his testimony. He told us a bunch of different stories from all the different temples and churches he had gone to. So what we thought was going to he an inactive member stop by turned into a really spiritually uplifing experience!

Spiritual thought✨
This week my spiritual thought also comes from the member I was talking about earlier. From what I have been taught, and from my own experience, I have learned that your testimony is either getting stronger or getting weaker. It never stays the same, which is why its so important to keep doing things that will build your testimony. Especially the basics, like going to church, reading the scriptures, and praying earnestly every day. For my new member friend, even though he wasnt home for 18 months, he still made those things a priority and his testimony is stronger now because of it. I would invite yall to do the same, make these things a priority in your life and you can see your testimony grow too!!

I love ya'll!! Hope everyone is enjoying the end of school and spring!!
